We want to share God’s love here, there and everywhere!

For us missions first starts here. Everyday we are given the opportunity as individuals to be on mission in our home, community and at work. In addition, we collectively as a church reach out locally through our Sunday morning services, our Rooted teen ministry, our Sunday morning JAM Children’s ministry, and through various outreach events throughout the year. Once a month our We Care (click here for more info) distribution provides necessary household items, food and clothes for those in our community who are in need. It runs 1:00-3:00 pm every third Sunday.

There are definite needs here even in America. One area in particular that has captured our heart is the Appalachian region. Virginia, located in the Appalachian chain, is a selected location where we feel the call of God to address the needs of the poor, the disadvantaged and the hurting. Twice a year we send mission teams to do home repair, build wheelchair ramps, offer elderly support through love and encouragement, support local teen ministries through Camp Bethel in Wise, Virginia. In addition, we partner with various local churches to address the needs of the area. What a privilege it is to share Christ’s love with the wonderful people of the Appalachian region.

Starting in 2004, we have witnessed a miracle in our Latin America missions effort. We have watched God impact the people of Nicaragua, Central America, in a huge way. NorthBrook felt the call to partner with NRN (Nicaragua Resource Network) to build and sponsor two churches in Nicaragua. In Chilimatillo where, since our beginning in 2004, we have built a Church, class rooms for reading programs, a parsonage for our local pastor and family, and a community playground, complete with soccer field for teens. With these facilities we help provide a fguys workingeeding program for children, food distribution for in need families, clothing giveaways, a reading program for both adults and children, women’s ministry, youth ministry and discipleship programs for all age groups have emerged. We are grateful to Pastor Alberto Pavon, and family for their hard work among the villagers. It has been an amazing blessing to partner with them and to support them in their efforts to see the light of Jesus shine in the Latin American region.

Our second church is located in Malacotoya. There we’ve built a church, parsonage, pavilion and a new well. We sponsor a Nicaraguan pastor and his family to serve that community for Christ.

In addition, we sponsor financially high school students and college students with opportunities to obtain an education at the high school level and at the University level. These teens will become the future movers and shakers of their nation, bringing God’s hope among a very poor nation.
